From Nikon to Fujifilm

Michaela, XT-1 35mm F2

 So....  I did it again!

About 4 years ago I decided to sell my Canon gear and buy in to the fujifilm X-Pro1 system and I loved it! I loved the feel of the camera, the function of it and mostly the way it inspired me to shoot.

2 years I decided to go back to a DSLR, this time a Nikon D700 with a 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8 ... At the time of making this change I thought it would allow me to create better images because of the flexibility of the camera and lenses... It took me 2 years to realise that my thoughts couldn't have been further from the truth. The camera did not inspire me to shoot, it was a heavy camera and to tell the truth a pain in the arse to carry around if we were going for a family day out or trip to the park... I knew then that a change was needed to spark that flame inside that drives me to create.

after much thinking I decided to go for the XT-1 and the 35mm F2 and 23mm f2. Why didn't I go for the xt2? I used te xt1 before and for what I needed it is perfect, I couldn't justify the xt2 when the xt1 fits the bill.

Since it arrived, it's been so liberating! The small compact size, weight and the image quality!... I'm not going to bang on about the specs etc etc but it rocks... I knew they were good but I genuinely forgot how good Fuji cameras are... I'm kicking myself for having ditched the pro1 all that time ago if I'm honest.

The fire in me is burning again and the camera has got me shooting my kids so so much more and that means the world to me, documenting them growing up!

Shoots and projects are now in progress and really can't wait to use this camera more and create the work I want to create!
